  1. Alethea, I love your blog. I stumbled across it while looking up info on green walnuts. I’m going to give making nocino a shot and I’m inspired by your reports of success. I learned about nocino from Amy Stewart’s The Drunken Botanist– a terrific and interesting little book chock full of the history and uses of botanicals for making booze and myriad recipes that I yearn to try. If you haven’t seen this book yet, I heartily recommend tripping over to the library and looking it over. I expect you’ll want a copy to call your own.
I also applaud all your foraging and new food-skill endeavors. Good luck with whatever projects you’re currently working on.
    Cheers,

    1. Hi Nikki!
I LOVE Amy Stewart’s book The Drunken Botanist. It is fabulous! She has a super straight forward nocino recipe in her book which I’m sure yields delicious results. Definitely make a batch next year. It’s so yummy.
It was from her book that I learned Monkey Puzzle trees had edible seeds and a few days later I stumbled upon a tree that had scattered loads on the ground. I love those kinds of synchronicities.
Thanks so much for reading and for your good wishes. Same to you!
      Cheers,
      Alethea
