Herbals – Lemon Thyme Tea

Follow these steps for a delicious cold-busting and preventing drink…

Step 1

  • Grab a bag of organic lemons (organic = unwaxed)

Step 2

  • Grab a packet of organic fresh thyme (or pick some if you’re so lucky). Thyme contains thymol, a powerful volatile oil with antiseptic, antibacterial, and anti-viral properties.

Step 3

  • Put the kettle on, Love.

Step 4

  • Squeeze a big de-seeded slice of lemon into your mug and drop it in, then add a few sprigs of thyme (bashed slightly with the end of your knife).

Step 5

  • Pour freshly boiled water into your mug and add a spoonful of unpasteurized honey.

Step 6

  • Enjoy!

Urban Huntress Tip: if you already have a cold or other respiratory illness, do a thyme steam. Put some well-bashed sprigs of thyme in a bowl, pour boiling water over and drape a towel over your head while you breathe in the healing steam. The steam will carry the volatile oils into your sinuses and lungs. Plus, the steam feels awesome if you’re stubbed up.
