February Events – Vancouver

There are so many great events happening in Vancouver this month that I just had to make sure y’all know what’s going on so you don’t miss anything! This Saturday is chock-full of great local foodie things to do.
You could start the day by heading over to the Winter Farmer’s Market at Nat Bailey and get some brunch from a new food truck, then meet up with chocolate expert Eagranie Yuh for a half-hour chocolate tasting and tour that lets you meet three different artisan chocolate makers at the market ($12, see below for registration, 3 times to choose from), then drop-in at the new Long Table Distillery at Hornby and Pacific for their grand opening to taste their first batch of gin and vodka and ogle their shiny copper boilers, and finish up the day at Woodland Smokehouse & Commissary at 6:30pm for a free talk about Food Rights in Canada with leading advocates for fresh milk and food rights, Ontario raw milk farmer, Michael Schmidt and Home on the Range Farms owner and local gal, Alice Jongerden….while snacking on a Cartem’s donut. Wow. That’s my kind of Saturday!

And there are loads more great workshops and seminars happening in February! Just check out the full Urban Huntress calendar to see if anything tickles your fancy. I try hard to ensure that all cool food related events are included. Kombucha, bread, mushrooms, chickens, gardening, cheese-making, bees…….so much to choose from.
